Whether you're a master baker crafting every gumdrop and gable from scratch, or you prefer the charm of assembling a store-bought kit with your personal flair, we want to see your festive creations. Transform sugar, spice, and everything nice into whimsical winter wonderlands, cozy cottages, or ambitious architectural masterpieces.
Every candied creation has a chance to shine – simply snap a photo of your finished gingerbread house and submit it for a chance to win. From perfectly piped icing details to cleverly placed candy canes, we can't wait to see how you'll bring your sweet vision to life!
Rules for the contest
Gingerbread House Competition Rules
1. Eligibility & Entry Requirements
Open to All Ages: Participants can enter individually or as a team.
2. Materials & Base Requirements
Store-Bought or Homemade: Bases can be store-bought kits or homemade, as long as the primary structure is made of gingerbread.
Edible Components: All visible components of the house must be edible. Use of gingerbread, candies, frosting, chocolate, pretzels, cookies, and other edible materials is encouraged.
Non-Edible Supports: Non-edible support structures (such as toothpicks, dowels, or Styrofoam) are allowed but must not be visible.
3. Themes & Creativity
Open Theme: Participants are free to choose any theme for their gingerbread house (classic holiday, winter wonderland, fairytale, etc.).
Originality: Unique designs, creativity, and personal touches are encouraged!
4. Judging Criteria
Gingerbread houses will be judged on the following criteria:
Uniqueness of design and creative use of materials.
Theme & Storytelling: How well the design communicates a theme or story.
Overall Aesthetic Appeal: The overall look and holiday appeal.
5. Prizes
New Years Eve Party Basket to the winner - to be coordinated with Shelley for pick up or drop off.
6. Photography
Photos: Participants will submit a photo of the gingerbread house to Shelley by text, email or DM on social media.
